The world's beer, on your list.

We are pleased to bring the full San Miguel range to our resort base — a beer programme that covers every moment of the guest's day, from a lunchtime light lager to a Belgian-style wheat we think will surprise your bar team.

San Miguel has brewed in Manila since 1890 and has been exported since 1914; it is now enjoyed in more than forty countries. Alongside it sits Red Horse — the same brewer's Extra Strong Brew and, on 2023 GlobalData figures, the number-one selling strong beer in the world. Between them they give a property one flagship pilsen, one light lager, one wheat ale and one statement strong beer.

The range covers the whole of the guest's day — the Pale Pilsen in 330 ml bottle, 330 ml can and 30 L keg for draught, and San Mig Light, Cerveza Blanca and Red Horse in 330 ml bottle — with serving and pairing notes written for the tropics.

The beer we would most like your team to taste is the new Cerveza Blanca — a hazy, citrus-and-coriander wheat ale that gives a bar something to talk about beyond a standard lager.

We would be glad to arrange a sample drop and a tasting at your property. Speak to your account manager.

San Miguel

The Philippines' brewer since 1890 — a European-style pilsen with more than ninety international quality awards to its name.
San Miguel / House Profile
Brewed since 1890

The beer the world already knows.

San Miguel was first brewed in Manila in 1890 and exported from 1914 — one of the oldest and most travelled beer brands in Asia. Today it is sold and enjoyed in more than forty countries, and its Pale Pilsen carries a tradition of excellence recognised by over ninety Monde Selection, Australian International Beer Awards and other quality honours.

The house style is a clean, European-style pale golden lager: smooth, full-flavoured and perfectly balanced, brewed from select row malt varieties out of Australia and Europe with German-variety hops that carry woody, herbal, citrus and green-grassy notes. It is a beer built to be poured all day in a warm climate.

Around that flagship sit two new arrivals — San Mig Light, a low-calorie lager at only 100 kcal per 330 ml serving and the number-one light beer across Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines; and Cerveza Blanca, a Belgian-style wheat ale that gives a bar team something to talk about.

Formats we hold: the Pale Pilsen in 330 ml bottle, 330 ml can and 30 L keg for draught; San Mig Light and the new Cerveza Blanca in 330 ml bottle.

House Two  ·  Extra Strong Brew

Red Horse

The world's number-one strong beer — big, bold and, against the odds, remarkably easy to drink.
Red Horse / House Profile
Extra Strong Brew · 8% ABV

Strong beer, done properly.

Red Horse is San Miguel's high-alcohol lager — a big, bold 8% beer, perfectly balanced with mildly bitter notes and a hint of fruit. On 2023 GlobalData figures it is the number-one selling strong beer in the world, sold in over seventy countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

Most strong beers make you work for them. Red Horse doesn't. A special fermentation process and a dedicated yeast strain give a high-alcohol beer that is more balanced, less filling and more drinkable than its strength suggests — clean and crisp rather than heavy.

It is built on select Australian and European malts and choice hop varieties, and it has the medals to back the reputation: a Gold Medal at the Australian International Beer Awards and consistent Gold in the Monde Selection Awards.

On a resort list it is the statement pour — the one guests recognise and ask for by name. We hold it in 330 ml bottle.

Service · Pairing · Storage

How to pour well.

Serving Temperatures

  • San Mig Light — 3–5 °C. Serve ice-cold; it is at its crispest straight from the chiller.
  • Pale Pilsen — 4–6 °C. Cold, with a proud two-finger head. The all-day pour for a warm climate.
  • Cerveza Blanca — 4–6 °C. A touch warmer lets the coriander and orange come through; keep the haze, roll the last of the bottle.
  • Red Horse — 4–6 °C. Cold tames the strength; pour into a fresh chilled glass.

Glassware

  • Tall pilsner flute for Pale Pilsen & San Mig Light — shows the colour and holds the head.
  • Weizen / tulip glass for Cerveza Blanca — room for the foam and the aromatics.
  • Chilled stange or schooner for Red Horse — small pours, kept cold.

Storage

Store all beer cold and out of direct light — light and heat are the enemies of a clean pilsen. Rotate stock first-in-first-out and pour within the printed best-before window. Cerveza Blanca is unfiltered and hazy by design; a light sediment is correct, not a fault. Kegs should be kept chilled and lines flushed to keep the draught pour clean.
